Watch pages that never expire mid-week
Clips stream from our own host instead of a signed Discord CDN URL, so a shared watch link keeps playing in embeds, browsers and mobile players for the whole retention window.
Discord edit contest · Edit of the Week
Final Cut turns a Discord editing server into a working competition. Editors submit their montages and clips, the community rates each one from 1 to 5, and a live leaderboard tracks weekly wins and lifetime rating points. Every submission gets a fast, self-hosted watch page that keeps working long after a Discord attachment link would have expired.
How it works
The whole video contest runs inside your server. There is no separate account to create, no upload portal to learn, and no scoreboard anyone has to maintain by hand.
Drop an MP4 or MOV into the submissions channel. The bot validates the file, stores it on our own server, and posts a rich card with a permanent watch link plus a discussion thread for feedback.
Every submission gets 1️⃣–5️⃣ reactions. One vote per member per edit, counted once and kept in sync even across bot restarts, so nobody can stack votes on their own montage.
At the end of each ISO week the bot totals every score, announces the winning video edit, and writes the result into the permanent leaderboard history next to lifetime rating points.
What you get
Everything an editing community actually needs after week one: a searchable archive of every edit, honest vote counting, per-editor history, and playback that does not break.
Clips stream from our own host instead of a signed Discord CDN URL, so a shared watch link keeps playing in embeds, browsers and mobile players for the whole retention window.
Every hosted video edit is browsable and sortable by newest or by total rating score, with uploader, file size, view count and remaining retention time on each row.
Open any uploader to see everything they have submitted inside the retention window — useful for spotting the editors who are consistently scoring well, not just once.
Anonymous view tracking separates total plays from unique viewers, and vote totals update on the watch page as the community reacts in Discord.
Each upload carries its own expiry — 30 days by default. Expired files are purged automatically, so storage stays flat and the catalog stays honest about what is still playable.
The bot, the API and the site run as one supervised service with automatic restart, TLS in front, and a public status page you can check any time.
FAQ
Still unsure about something? Ask in the Discord server — the same place where every edit gets posted and rated.
Final Cut is a Discord edit contest system. Editors post their video edits in a dedicated Discord channel, the bot hosts every clip on its own domain, the community rates each submission from 1 to 5, and the highest scoring edit wins Edit of the Week.
Every submission gets 1️⃣ to 5️⃣ reactions. One vote per member per edit. Scores update live on the watch page and roll into the lifetime leaderboard, so a single strong week does not permanently outrank consistent editors.
Clips are streamed from the project's own server, not from Discord's CDN. That means watch links keep working inside embeds, players and browsers for the whole retention window instead of expiring with a signed Discord URL.
Each upload carries its own retention window — 30 days by default. The catalog shows the remaining time per clip, and expired files are purged automatically to keep storage predictable.
At the end of every ISO week the bot totals the reaction scores for that week's submissions, announces the winning edit in the announcement channel, and records the win in the leaderboard history.
MP4 and MOV uploads are accepted, and uploads are normalized to progressive H.264/AAC MP4 so they play inline everywhere. External links such as Streamable are catalogued alongside hosted files.
Join the server, drop your montage in the submissions channel, and let the votes decide whether it takes this week's crown. The current record score sits at 34 points — beat it.
